iPod Firmware 2.0

Well, here I am still...
The picture above is not a fake.
It's not even a major breakthru but it's something.
I am glad to tell you anyhow that 2.0
firmware works pretty well on my iPod 32gb.
All features are enabled.
To install it from windows (or mac) you need
a special beta version of itunes.
Unless you want to loose installer
and all third party apps I strongly suggest you
NOT TO UPGRADE (both iPod both iPhone).
To downgrade the iPod you will need
to uninstall iTunes 7.7 and reinstall 7.5.
Then you will need to put the iPod in DFU mode
and do a full restore back to 1.1.4 (and use ZiPhone)
to have back Installer and all goodies.
With the iPhone it's more complicated
because you will also need to
downgrade the baseband.
I already have a very preliminary version
of the new ZiPhone which will allow that.

As of today you will have 2 choices:
1) Believe in the community and don't upgrade to 2.0
2) Say goodbye to Installer and freedom and upgrade.

Stay tuned :)

Douglas sez, "Realms of Fantasy Magazine has just launched its brand-new website. It includes a .pdf of our latest issue (February 2010), available for free download. We have also created Readers Awards for fiction & art, we have brought back longtime fiction editor Shawna McCarthy's editorial column, and there are a host of other reading and visual goodies for fans of speculative literature. Lots more contents and features will be added in the coming days and weeks." It's great to see the print sf/f magazines really starting to explore the web. I really enjoy RoF! Realms of Fantasy Magazine (Thanks, Douglas!)...

Still Time to Ship That Christmas Gift? UPS Chart

Posted by on under th weekend, rsquo, christmas gift, ups, power tools, east coast, goodies, ace, midwest, nbsp, christmas, stock |

If you are in the Midwest or on the East Coast you can place an order this weekend on OhioPowerTool.com and it will ship on Monday, as long as the item is still in-stock. If you are outside the area or reading this later my personal advice is always to spend a little more on the actual gift and have it come a late. Sure if you are buying for a 6 year old that’s not going to work but for grownup children getting power tools spend the money on some extra goodies.
