Well know for their large hydraulic equipment Power Team has built portable high tonnage jacks specific for lifting rail cars and heavy equipment. The jacks range from 60 to 200 tons and are powered by air or electric. There are several different options such as pumps, height, tonnage, remote control and other features that can be customized but most commonly units are ordered in pre-configured arrangements. Some times known as power risers or power lifts the portable lifts are easy to maneuver around while still capable of lifts incredible amounts of weight.
Models PLE6014 & PLA6014 are specifically built as “Railroad Edition” models for maintenance on locomotives and railcars. The jacks come equipped with extensions to match most applications with up to a maximum lifting height of 70”. Both units also feature 20 ft remote controls, adjustable handle, foam filled tires and patented lowering valves for smooth, safe lowering. The main difference is the PLE6014 is powered by 1-1/8 HP 110/115 VAC using 25 amps of electric power. The PLA6014 is powered by a rotary air pump which uses 50 CFM at 80 psi.

Here in the US of A, most netbooks come stocked with a predictable array of hardware: a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 80GB HDD, 1GB of RAM and a price tag ranging from $399 to $699. Elsewhere on the planet, things are a bit different, and if
VIA has anything to say about it,
it will be the name people think of when hearing "
netbook" in Asia and beyond. Said outfit has just cranked up a Global Mobility Bazaar program to "drive [global] mobile computing adoption," and it has already managed to pull 15 companies (including Microsoft, for a little thing called WinXP) onboard. In essence, the program will enable second-tier vendors to get in the netbook game and offer products with shorter life cycles and lower prices -- both of which are mighty useful in emerging markets. In somewhat related news, we're also hearing a sketchy report that HP has chosen the Intel route for its future netbooks, and considering that the
Vivienne Tam Digital Clutch has already selected Intel, we suppose the forthcoming
Mini 1000 will likely be the real confirmation / denial.

The new SC6514 SpeediCut Jr. handheld gas saw is a great new product at an incredibly low price. The unit is powerful with a 4.8 HP “hemi” engine and a poly V-belt for maximum torque transfer. It is also versatile using 12” or 14” blades with 22mm or 1” arbor. These units are used to cut concrete, steel, masonry, stone, asphalt, wood and many other materials. Handling the SpeediCut Jr. is pretty easy thanks to the compact lightweight design at 22 lbs and enlarged protected trigger guard which allows the user to wear gloves. Emissions and noise concerns are a growing factor these days but with advanced exhaust features, digital ignition and fuel efficient gas tank this is one of the most efficient saws on the market.
Ohio Power Tool is currently selling the SpeediCut Jr. SC6514 for $629 which is a great price for such a versatile saw. The similar size Partner/Husqvarna saws are in the $900-1000 range. We fully understand that the market for
18.4-inch gaming laptops is a niche one, so we suppose this all makes sense from a business perspective, but still -- we can't help but shed a tear. HP's beastly, benchmark-smashing
HDX 18 (and HDX 18t) has been forcibly removed from the outfit's website, with even cached links leading to a customization page turning up "Sorry!" portals. The marginally smaller HDX 16 remains alive and well, but it seems as if the
18-inch dv8 is your only option now when selecting a larger-than-life lappie from the folks at HP. Gotta keep keepin' on, we guess.
